NEW YORK, NY (February 27, 2012) --- Kellen Company, a global professional services company with operations in Atlanta, Beijing, Brussels, Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C, has promoted Maria Ungaro to vice president. Ungaro is an experienced association executive who has been with Kellen Company for over 15 years.
Since June of 2005, Ungaro has served as the executive director for New York Women in Communications (NYWICI), a professional society for New York-based professional women in the media and communications industry. She also serves as the executive director for the group’s philanthropic arm, the New York Women in Communications Foundation. As executive director, Ungaro is a critical member of the team executing the professional society’s annual Matrix Awards Luncheon, which brings together hundreds of the industry’s top professionals and celebrities for a day of celebration, awards and networking.

In addition to her role with NYWICI, Ungaro serves as awards director for the Kellen-managed Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), an association for airline experience professionals. Ungaro directs The Passenger Choice Awards, which give voice to airline passengers to award the best airline experiences.
Prior to joining Kellen Company, she worked for a management consulting firm specializing in crisis communications, public relations and corporate positioning.
Ungaro is a graduate of Fordham University, where she earned her MBA in Marketing and a B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in Economics.
