Kellen Company VP Authors Definitive Book On Timber Framing

NEW YORK, NY (December 3, 2003) – The Kellen Company, a full-service association management company, proudly announces that its vice president, Michael Morris, debuts his latest hardcover book this month. The new title, The Timberframe Way, looks at one of the hottest trends in custom home building today.

"So many high-end homes today are built either entirely as, or with some aspects of, timber framing," says Morris, "yet there are fewer than a dozen books on the subject that provide useful information for homebuyers and builders alike."

Building these homes can be quite a challenge, said Morris, who co-wrote
The Timberframe Way with Dick Pirozzolo after constructing his own timberframe home. He draws upon his experience to counsel the reader on topics like managing traffic patterns between rooms, choosing the right roofing and siding materials, and selecting a décor to complement the home’s rugged beauty.

Morris, a former professional carpenter as well as a journalist and public relations specialist, works on association accounts directly related to his 30 years of experience in the home building industry. These include Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA), Copper Development Association (CDA), Asphalt Roofers Manufacturers Association (ARMA), Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) and Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA).

Before joining the Kellen Co., Morris was Editor-In-Chief of Home Mechanix magazine and a reporter and feature writer for Gannett Newspapers and USA Today. He has contributed articles to Consumer Reports, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Field & Stream and many other national publications. As a professional contractor, he worked for more than a decade in the remodeling/homebuilding industry.

With over 100 color photos and illustrations, The Timberframe Way is a helpful resource for anyone contemplating building or owning a timberframe home.
The Timberframe Way is published by The Lyons Press, an imprint of Globe Pequot Press in Guilford, CT and is available at Amazon.com and bookstores everywhere. Morris and Pirozzolo also co-authored Timberframe Home Plans.
