BRUSSELS, December 16, 2010 – Kellen Europe, a division of global association management  firm Kellen Company, organized the annual meeting of the EU-Russia Industrialists Roundtable (IRT) last week in Brussels, Belgium.  Established in 1997, IRT is a business platform composed of leaders of companies from the EU and Russia.  The meeting provides a platform for business dialogue, discussions on bilateral economic relations and recommendations on public policy.

Held on December 7, a part of the 2010 meeting was led by president of the Russian Federation Dimitry Medvedev, president of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and president of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, who met with 40 leaders of European and Russian companies and trade associations.  This is the fourth consecutive year Kellen Europe has managed the IRT’s annual meeting, overseeing all aspects of the meeting planning, promotion and production. Kellen also hosts the IRT’s EU-Secretariat for the past 3 years and manages the association’s activities throughout the year.

“IRT’s annual meeting is one of the highest level business meetings in Europe.  We are fortunate to partner with an association that allows Kellen to leverage our capabilities across the globe to facilitate a smooth operation so that industry leaders can focus on the business outcomes,” said Alfons Westgeest, group vice president and managing partner, Kellen Europe.

Companies and trade associations represented at this year’s meeting included: BP, Carlsberg, Siemens, Solvay, Stora Enso, Rusnano, Russian Railways, AstraZeneca, Association of Russian Banks, Business Europe, and Russian Union of Industrialists.
