Michael Cummings is Vice President of Business Development at Kellen Company. Cummings and his team are responsible for the company’s brand marketing and new business outreach. His role encompasses communicating the vast talent, industry expertise and service capabilities under Kellen Company’s global umbrella to multiple stakeholders, including prospective and current clients, as well as overseeing the brand alignment of multiple Kellen Company acquisitions.
Cummings has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and new business. Prior to joining Kellen Company, Cummings owned a brand consulting firm where he created innovative programs to deliver unique client messages to diverse audiences. Previously, he was the first head of business development at Omnicom marketing and public relations agency Cone, Inc. where he specialized in brand consulting, strategic public relations and online marketing for pre-IPO companies and global media brands as well as strategic philanthropic marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and their non-profit partners.
Cummings earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and a Master’s in Business Administration from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He is active in committees for both the American Society of Association Executives and the New York Society of Association Executives, which has recognized his efforts on behalf of education, marketing and membership with multiple recognition awards.
Since joining Kellen Company in 2006, Cummings has been a frequent contributor to industry publications and a fixture on the speaker circuit where he has probed such topics as “Branding for Non-Profits” and “Creating a Signature Fundraising Event.”
