Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Selects Kellen Company for Full-Service Association Management

New York (January 5, 2010) The Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals announced today that it has selected Kellen Company for full-service association management, effective January 1, 2010.  Kellen Company is a global professional services firm with operations in New York City, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Tucson, Brussels and Beijing.

The Greater New York Chapter (GNY) is the founding chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) , the nation’s largest association dedicated to harnessing the spirit of philanthropy, representing nearly 31,000 members in more than 200 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.

The GNY/AFP is a vital and unparalleled source of information and resources for the New York area—from workshops and informal networking opportunities to Fundraising Day in New York, the largest one-day conference in the world on philanthropic topics. The GNY/AFP is dedicated to supporting the uniquely American tradition of giving—and helping to make New York a better place.

“We are thrilled to have Kellen Company’s unrivaled expertise in the non-profit industry, worldwide outreach and knowledgeable staff to guide our organization to even greater success,” said Myles Amend, chapter president, GNY/AFP. “Kellen Company is widely regarded as an industry leader in non-profit management and we are confident that we have engaged a strategic partner that perfectly aligns with our mission.”

Kellen Company will manage all aspects of GNY/AFP, including membership services, financial services, leadership and strategic management, board and committee support, event management, as well as its Web site and publications, providing GNY/AFP with seasoned management and staff depth. In addition, GNY/AFP will look to Kellen to streamline existing programs in keeping with its chapter mission and vision, and to grow membership by tapping into the tens of thousands of people who work in fundraising in the greater New York area. Activities will include creating new and exciting events to retain existing membership and attract new members. Ellen Kushman will serve GNY/AFP as executive director.

"Kellen Company is excited to apply our wealth of experience in managing non-profit organizations for the benefit of GNY/AFP,” said Peter Rush, chairman and chief executive officer, Kellen Company.  "We look forward to working with the board and membership in accomplishing its goals of advancing philanthropy and fundraising in the New York area.”
