Thursday Tip: Shoot Video as an Alternative to Traditional Communication

The next time you want to communicate to your Board or your members, how about videotaping the message? Whether it’s a member testimonial as part of a campaign or a report on committee activities, visual communication can definitely be a viable option for audience engagement. Consider purchasing a poster or banner (under $100!) to put behind the subject(s) and shoot away using a smart phone. You’ll be surprised how good the quality is. 

Here’s an example from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Don’t underestimate the power of video. When you compare open rates vs. views, you may be quite surprised at the results.
