MICHAEL MORRIS
Vice President
Michael Morris is Vice President, Communications, for the Kellen Company. His responsibilities include managing the New York-based public relations/communications activities of Kellen client associations and independent businesses.
Since joining the company in August 2001, Michael has overseen a team of account representatives servicing a diverse range of accounts, from home & shelter product manufacturers and trade groups to food industry organizations.
Michael’s extensive background in journalism and his knowledge of the media is a formidable asset to the company and its clients. During his 25-year editorial career he has written and worked for Times Mirror Magazines, CBS Publications, TIME Inc., USA Today and Gannett Newspapers. A former Editor-in-Chief of Home Mechanix magazine, he is a well-respected authority on residential construction with several books on home building and improvement to his credit, and he continues to write independently for many national publications. He served five years on the National Association of Home Builders steering committee for “The New American Home” and is a past member of the national Remodelors Council.
For our many clients with interests in the residential and commercial building fields, Michael’s background helps position Kellen as the premium provider of communications services to this industry. He is also active in technology and automotive journalism and is a 20-year member of the International Motor Press Association. His publishing and creative experience is invaluable when it comes to producing feature articles, news releases, in-depth case studies, website content and other information across a broad range of subject areas, as well as any time we need to reach out to the media to ensure placement of our clients’ messages.
Michael is a U.S. Army veteran and former non-commissioned officer with a distinguished record of infantry service in Vietnam. He holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University.
