Eric Allen ERIC ALLEN
Vice President

Eric Allen is a Vice President for The Kellen Company and has 12 years of service with the company. He has more than 15 years experience in association management and communications, with particular expertise in healthcare meetings and exhibitions management, communications and public relations. He also manages the Kellen Company’s Information Resource Center, which provides information from media, government and other sources to clients on a daily basis.

Eric Allen is Executive Vice President of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) – the only trade association dedicated solely to the healthcare convention and exhibiting industry. During his six years at the helm of HCEA, the association grew to its highest membership ever (more than 700); has set attendance records at its Annual Meeting three times in the last four years; and has implemented numerous new services for members, including HCEA’s Online Directory of Healthcare Meetings & Conventions, Listserve discussion forums, a Virtual Trade Show, research reports on the value of healthcare conventions, new educational seminars, and a new newsletter targeted to healthcare associations, entitled Association Alert. Allen has been with HCEA for 12 years in positions of increasing responsibility in communications and international activities.

He is co-author of the Exhibits chapter of the 7th edition of the Convention Industry Council Manual, the study book for the prestigious Certified Meeting Professional designation, and has authored articles on healthcare exhibit marketing for Pharmaceutical Executive, Medical Marketing & Media, Convene magazine, Insurance Meetings magazine, Insight magazine, and other trade publications. He has spoken at meetings of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers (IAPCO), the International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association (IPCAA) and HCEA. Eric also has served as Chair of the Exhibit Industry Congress Models of Success Task Force and the Healthcare Congress Alliance, an international working group for creating greater scientific and economic quality in healthcare congresses.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Bryan College and a master’s degree in mass communications from the University of Georgia.
