Kellen Company Vice President Tor Holtan Presents Board Development Expertise at NYSAE Volunteer Institute
Panel discussion focuses on how to best maximize the value of your board
NEW YORK (February 18, 2011) – Kellen Company vice president and chief innovation officer Tor Holtan served on a panel discussion this week at the New York Society for Association Executives (NYSAE) 2011 Volunteer Institute held on February 16, at The Grand Hyatt in Manhattan. The panel, entitled “Maximizing the Value of Your Board” focused on board recruitment and development and provided attendees with the key principles and practices to train volunteer leaders and build a culture of excellence.
“Each board, and individual board member, is very different,” explained Holtan. “Learning the best practices and effective strategies for helping to foster a board’s success; and, leveraging their collective pool of resources is critical for management professionals as well as the forward motion of the organization.”
Among his management roles at Kellen, Holtan serves as chief executive officer of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America. He has a long history of leading innovation at major national and international corporations and has in-depth knowledge of the trends and innovations shaping the world. Holtan also oversees the implementation of best practices throughout the Kellen Company, as well as assesses and executes operation improvements and develops new products and services in the areas of marketing, distance learning and conferences.
